Gallipoli and our work on Flanders Field

In room 4, we have been looking at the events in Gallipoli 100 years ago, and the greater impact of The Great War. We have analysed the infamous poem 'Flanders Field' by Artillery Commander Major John McCrae.

The children chose to write a few extra verses, and their thoughts on the horrific events of 1915. We then created a piece of artwork to reflect the mood, looking at materials, colours and meaning.

Quilling

In room 4 we have been learning the art of Quilling. Rolling, shaping and sticking strips of paper to make decorative designs. We soon realised, this skill requires patience, concentration and very dextrous hands!

Coat of Arms

We looked at different examples and researched the features that are normally included. Then we designed our own Coat of Arms including the hobbies and interests that represent us.
