Football in Schools

Room 4 were lucky enough to experience the footballing expertise of Nelson Bays development officer - George Campbell. We have been working on balance, spatial awareness, types of movement, dribbling and passing. I was amazed how many 'Soccer-stars' we have in Room 4! Listening attentively, being prepared to take risks, and supporting one another throughout all the footballing workshops!

Genius Hour Presentation Day

The 'Buzz' in the Senior Syndicate was electrifying on Friday when all Genius Hour groups got to present to their peers, parents and younger children from throughout the school. The children have worked really hard on their projects and attempted to be reflective throughout. Every group has been able to identify the challenges they've faced faced along the way, and have discussed the next steps to overcome these. The presentation 'market' just demonstrated how capable and creative young minds can be when they persue a passion in order to solve a driving question.

Visit to Nelson Library and museum

Room 4 made a lovely visit to Nelson library on Monday. With the imminent closure of the school library, we took the opportunity to pick up some books, and read in a new atmosphere. We then continued onto the museum to explore an exhibition devoted to the heroic ANZAC soldiers that risked their lives in The Great War.

We even took the opportunity to explore different artworks and attempt our very own crafts, using a range of materials and paint.
